Long Beach Middle School recently delighted audiences with its production of Once Upon a Mattress, performed on February 5 and 6 in the school’s auditorium. The performances showcased the remarkable talents of more than 53 student performers and members of the Production Crew.

The retelling of the classic fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea,” provided students with an opportunity to shine both on stage and behind the scenes. Months of rehearsals, set design, costume preparation, and technical coordination culminated in two memorable evenings of entertainment for families, friends, and community members.

Under the direction of Long Beach Music Teacher and Director Scott Scheinson and Long Beach Music Teacher and Assistant Director and Music Director Christina Farrell, students worked collaboratively to bring the beloved musical comedy to life. From energetic musical numbers to humorous performances and creative staging, the cast and crew demonstrated exceptional dedication, teamwork, and passion throughout the production process.
