No. The new bond would replace expiring debt from previous capital plans, resulting in no additional cost to taxpayers if passed.

Projects include:
- Installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in all schools.
- Playground renovations or additions at each elementary school.
- Upgrades to athletic fields and locker rooms at the middle and high schools, and a new wrestling room at the high school.
- New instructional spaces at the high school for marine science, technology, carpentry and robotics.
- Infrastructure maintenance at the Long Beach Public Library, including roof replacement.
- Additional infrastructure upgrades to each building.
Q5: How much state aid will the district receive?
The district expects to receive 42.4% reimbursement in state building aid for all eligible costs, helping to reduce the overall local share.
Q6: The City of Long Beach had indicated that they wanted to turn the West Elementary playground into a parking garage and create a raised playground. Is this proposed project moving forward?
No. While the City did inquire about raising the playground at West to accommodate a parking garage, the district ultimately decided not to agree to that request,after hearing community feedback. The playground at West will be renovated; however, it will not be raised, nor will parking be installed.

The community vote will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at designated polling locations. Residents must vote at their designated location:
