Long Beach High School is excited to congratulate Samuel Adler for being named a National Merit Semifinalist in the 69th Annual National MeritScholarship Program. The Long Beach senior is among approximately 16,000 semifinalists selected nationally from an estimated 1.3 million who entered the academic competition upon taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as juniors.
Being recognized as a National Merit Semifinalist means Samuel has a chance to win a National Merit Scholarship, which will be offered next spring. A Semifinalist represents the top 1% of United States high school seniors and highest-scoring entrants from each state.
Samuel will now move forward with a scholarship application which will spotlight his academic record, participation in school and community activities, leadership experience, employment and other awards and honors he has received. He will also be endorsed by a Long Beach High School official and need to write a compelling essay.
The district is incredibility proud of Samuel for receiving this honor
for the 2023-2024 school year and wishes his continued success!
