• TRANSPORTATION NOTICE
To Parents of Students Attending Out-of-District Programs in the 2013-2014 School Year: Applications for transportation to out-of-district programs must be submitted to the Long Beach Public Schools Transportation Department at 659 Lido Blvd., prior to May 1, 2013.

K-12 students are eligible for out- of-district transportation if the out-of-district program is within a 15-mile radius of the student's residence. Pre-Kindergarten students attending out-of-district programs are not eligible for transportation. The Transportation Department will mail transportation applications for the 2013- 2014 school year to parents of students currently attending out-of-district programs by February 1, 2013. The Transportation Department is open weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Elementary Early Pickup Procedures
If a parent/guardian knows in advance that his/her child needs to be picked up from school before the normal dismissal time, a note MUST be sent in with the child. The note is to be given to the guidance office.
When entering the building, parent/guardian must sign in at the front door. Before a child is released, the custody file will be checked.
If the office staff does not know the parent/guardian, a picture ID. will be asked for and required before the child is released.
In the event that a person other than the parent/guardian is picking up the child, a note is required from the parent/guardian.
In addition:
Only in an extreme emergency will a phone call be accepted All phone calls will be verified. A picture l.D. of the person picking up the child will be required before the child is released. A school representative will make verification of the phone call.
Parents/guardians must go directly to the main office or nurses office to sign the Student Sign-Out book.
Middle School / High School Early Pickup Procedures
