In September 2022, the New York State Board of Regents began its full implementation of the Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards
Students will be assessed on these standards according to the projected timeline as follows:

- June 2024: New Algebra I Regents Exam
- June 2025: New Geometry Regents Exam

Throughout the 4 elementary buildings in Long Beach students are using i-Ready Classroom curriculum for the transition into the new standards that they will be tested on in May.
At LBMS students can choose to accelerate their studies in mathematics through a pathway that includes the study of the first year of high school mathematics taking Algebra I in 8th grade.
At LBHS students have many opportunities to take higher level math classes such as AP, College and IB courses throughout their math journey.
As a math department PK-12 we pride ourselves in having many resources and supports in place for all of our students, especially those who need additional AIS, ENL or Special Education services.
