The Long Beach Public Schools’ elementary buildings are applauding the accomplishments of readers and writers throughout the school year, and celebrations have recently begun as the first unit of the Columbia University Teachers College Reading and Writing Project concludes.

Classes throughout the district are participating in reading and writing celebrations and publishing parties as part of their TC units of study. So far, elementary school students have walked the red carpet, paraded down the hallways, teamed up with reading buddies and taken the spotlight in classrooms as they presented their work and supported each other in reaching new milestones.

The district looks forward to sharing more about the growing accomplishments of its readers and writers!
