Eleven dedicated members of the Long Beach Public Schools faculty were granted tenure at the May 25 Board of Education Meeting and honored with a heartfelt tribute. A special video featured students’ own special sentiments, congratulatory statements and expressions of fondness for their teachers.

The tenure recipients were then celebrated with a brief reception during which members of the Board of Education, administration, staff and audience congratulated them for this well-deserved career milestone.

Congratulations to Melissa Canner (elementary teacher), Desmond Dingle (teacher assistant), Sophia Fogarazzo (teacher assistant), Thomas Gaynor (Education of Children with Handicapping Conditions-general special education teacher), Jennifer Healey (remedial reading teacher), Jordan Hue (English/theatre teacher), Rose Ann Malizia (elementary teacher), Michelle Root (elementary teacher), Michael Santoro (technology education teacher), Travis Van Nostrand (elementary teacher) and Darlene Ventre (teacher assistant).
