In celebration of Parents As Reading Partners at West Elementary School, students had the opportunity to virtually meet with author Alexandra Penfold. This event was arranged by the West PTA for students in grades K-5.

Ms. Penfold read her books, “All Are Welcome” and “Big Feelings,” and discussed the process of writing and publishing. She also answered many questions from students, and the PTA purchased copies of “Big Feelings” for each class.

PARP was a two-week initiative at West and also featured parent mystery readers, raffles and a book giveaway. PARP is also celebrated annually at the district’s other elementary schools as a way to help students cultivate a love of reading.
