Long Beach High School celebrated Homecoming on Oct. 2 under the Friday night lights at Veterans Field. Before the game, students, families and community members gathered for the annual Homecoming Carnival, sponsored by student government organizations, featuring games, activities and plenty of Long Beach pride.

Fans then filled the stands in blue and white to cheer on the Marines in their matchup against Roosevelt High School. The evening also featured a special tribute to community service, with members of the Long Beach Fire Department and Long Beach High School graduates Jamie Demerest, Jack Meyers and John Whelan serving as the Color Guard. Long Beach students Molly Abrams and Ronin Morita performed the National Anthem.

The celebration continued with performances by the pep band and cheerleading squad, followed by the annual Bulldog Dash featuring Long Beach youth football players. The night ended with a 15-6 victory for the Marines!
