Long Beach High School to Celebrate Homecoming with Patriotic Spirit
Long Beach High School will celebrate Homecoming on Friday, Oct. 2, at Veterans Field with a festive evening featuring a community carnival, pregame ceremony and football game.
This year’s Homecoming celebration invites students, families, alumni and community members to show their patriotic spirit by wearing red, white and blue as the district commemorates America’s 250th anniversary.
The evening will begin with the Long Beach Homecoming Carnival in the Long Beach Middle School back lot. The carnival will open at 5 p.m. for children ages 6 and younger and to the public at 5:30 p.m. Attendees will enjoy food, carnival games and prizes. The carnival will continue through the end of the first quarter.
A pregame ceremony will take place at 6:45 p.m., followed by the Homecoming football game at 7 p.m., when the Long Beach Marines take on the Roosevelt Roughriders.
For the safety and security of all attendees, bags of any kind, including backpacks and fanny packs, are not permitted at the carnival or football game. Exceptions for medical or childcare needs, such as prescription medications or baby supplies, will be handled individually at the entrance gates. Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring only essential items.
