Long Beach High School’s Riptide Robotics team is set to compete in the 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition World Championship in Houston, Texas an exciting milestone that reflects years of growth, innovation, and dedication. This morning, the team departed for Houston, cheered on by a spirited clap-out from fellow students, faculty, and the music department, a send-off that showcased the pride and support of the entire school community.

What began seven years ago as a small robotics club, fueled by student interest in engineering and technology, has rapidly developed into a highly competitive and accomplished team. Five years ago, Riptide Robotics entered the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), and through persistence, teamwork, and technical skill, they have now earned a place among the world’s top teams.

Earlier this year, the team delivered an exceptional performance at the Hofstra Regional, securing their qualification for the World Championship. Their success is the result of countless hours spent designing, building, programming, and refining their robot.

We wish the Riptide team the best of luck this week as they represent Long Beach with pride!
