DUAL Language Enhanced Program (DLEP)
Welcome to the Long Beach School District's Dual Language Enhanced Program Website. This website will provide visitors with information about our DLEP. Our program is housed at Lido elementary school. Students in grades 3-5 in our DLEP program receive Spanish instruction three times for 42 minutes in a six day cycle. The DLEP instructor is a former Dual Language teacher who brings years of experience to the program. This model provides students with higher level of Spanish instruction, including literature, writing and research skills. A teaching assistant is also assigned to these classes with the goal of providing small group instruction. The dual language enhanced program strives to promote bilingualism and bi-literacy, and positive cross-cultural attitudes and behavior in all students. Our goal is to enable students to function more successfully in a global society.
We will update this site shortly with additional information regarding our up and coming new and exciting enrichment programs for the 2011-2012 school year!
