Long Beach Public Schools had an excellent opening day on Wednesday, Sept. 6, as students kicked off the 2017-18 school year with gusto. Their excitement was evident as kindergartners through high school seniors reunited with friends, were introduced to new ones, met their teachers and set goals for learning and success.

This school year brings the continuation of many developments that were introduced in recent years. The 1:1 Chromebook initiative has brought a world of expanded opportunities for instruction at the secondary level. Facilities work that was previously completed at the middle school and high school further enhances the continued emphasis on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) experiences.
