We are aware of the situation and have been working through the proper channels to bring resolution to this issue. Please know that the safety and well-being of our students remains our top priority. Statement from David Weiss
Superintendent of Long Beach Public Schools
 
The District has not been served with any legal papers in this matter. Please know that the Long Beach School District has complied, and will continue to comply, with all federal and state legal requirements regarding complaints to the District about possible abuse or mistreatment of our students. Laws protecting the privacy of students prohibit us from saying anything more. We do acknowledge that there is an ongoing Education Law Section 3020-a hearing, but cannot comment further.
